Woman, 80, allegedly punches police officer during Long Island arrest: NCPD
ROOSEVELT, N.Y. (PIX11) – An 80-year-old woman allegedly attacked a police officer during her arrest on Long Island on Sunday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
It happened at an East Clinton Avenue home in Roosevelt around 1:45 p.m. Officers met with 80-year-old Betty Cater inside the residence while investigating a complaint, according to authorities.
Cater was allegedly angry and punched a police officer in the face and scratched him on the neck, per police. She was allegedly combative and resisted arrest, according to authorities.
The injured police officer was treated at a local hospital for pain, bruising and a laceration.
Cater was charged with assault, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
