'Donald Trump didn’t show up': Conservative explains why Harris never met the ex-president
The Bulwark's Tim Miller on Sunday offered a reminder for Dana Bash following the CNN host's exclusive interview with 2024 Democratic nominee Kamala Harris Thursday.
Speaking with MSNBC's Jen Psaki on Sunday, the political analyst noted typically in widely watched interviews with presidential candidates ahead of the election, is that you "answer a question and then pivot to why your opponent's terrible."
Harris veered away from doing that, which Miller thinks was likely strategic, as the vice president was "focused on introducing herself to" America.

The Bulwark podcast host then noted it might be helpful for Harris to meet Trump face to face — which she would have done already if the ex-president had showed up to one major event almost four years ago.
Miller noted Bash said to Harris: "You know, you've never even met Trump before – the debate will be the first time."
The political analyst then said: "It might be interesting to remind Dana why they never met before. It was because Donald Trump didn't show up to the peaceful transition of power, because he was pouting like a child, and flying home to his house in Mar-a-Lago and his emotional support cougars."
Miller emphasized, "The first president in history not to show up to the transition of power, and that was after he tried a violent coup on the Capitol. So that's why they never met."
