NEW ITEMS ON THE WAY

McDonald’s regularly changes its menu and the latest additions will be added on Wednesday, September 4.

The new menu item that has never been tasted before is a Twix Latte.

The coffee-based drink includes Twix-flavoured syrup, topped with caramel cream and crumbs of the chocolate bar on top.

A medium-sized cup of the sweet chocolate drink will set you back £2.69, and a large will cost £3.29.

The fast-food chain will also be bringing back several fan favourites, including Mozzarella Dippers and the popular Philly Cheese Stack burger.

The burger was new to the Maccies menu last October as part of the Halloween range and was a hit from the beginning.

It provides a pretty cheesy experience with two beef patties topped with a cheese sauce, two cheese slices, grilled and crispy onions and pickles and served in a toasted bun.

The burger is £5.29 on its own, £7.19 for a medium meal and £7.89 for a large.

Mozzarella dippers come in a pack of three or as a sharebox of nine, and are each coated in breadcrumbs and served with salsa dip.

They will cost £2.39 for a pack of three and £6.49 for a sharebox.

Other popular treats making a return include the Chicken Big Mac, Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry and the Twix Caramel McFlurry.

Coming back for a fifth time is the sell-out Chicken Big Mac which has proven a huge hit with fans since it first debuted in 2022.

It’s a twist on the classic Maccies Big Mac with its triple-layered bun, two chicken patties, a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles – and of course the Big Mac sauce.

The burger costs £4.79 for a single and £6.69 for a medium meal, a large meal costs £7.39.

While the Galaxy McFlurry also costs £2.19 for a regular and £1.59 for a mini.

The dessert is made up of soft dairy ice cream swirled with chocolate drops and topped with chocolate sauce.

To accompany the new latte, the Twix McFlurry is also making a return.

It costs £2.19 and combines ice cream swirled with Twix biscuit pieces and chocolate drops, topped with caramel sauce. A mini-size costs £1.59.

How to save at McDonald's

You could end up being charged more for a McDonald's meal based solely on the McDonald's restaurant you choose.

Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.

You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald’s receipts.

The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.

You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.

There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald’s app, so it’s worth signing up to get money off your meals.

The MyMcDonald’s app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up.

You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you’re a My McDonald’s app user.

The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details – otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.

OTHER LAUNCHES

The new McDonald’s menu will come into effect on September 4, when McDonald’s popular Monopoly game will be returning too.

For all the info on prizes, how to boost your chances, and the special stickered items, see our explainer.

McDonald’s also launched a rare US drink in the UK for the very first time this week.

The Grimace Shake is purple and features a blueberry-flavoured syrup blended with a creamy milkshake base.

The drink is inspired by the fast-food chains’ purple Grimace mascot, first introduced in the 1970s.

The fictional figure was initially an evil character who stole milkshakes from customers.

However, he later was rebranded as a more friendly cartoon.

It’s been available to buy in stores since August 28.

The shake costs £2.69 for a medium size, while a large version is £2.99, though prices can vary depending on location.

We gave the unique shake a go last week.

How does McDonald's Monopoly work?

PLAYERS who take part in Monopoly can collect stickers from their food packaging that represent train stations or colour co-ordinated road names - much like the classic game.

However, not all menu items are worth the same amount, and this determines how you redeem a prize.

For example, instant win food prizes can be redeemed at any McDonald’s branch by handing the token over at the counter when you order.

You’ll need to hand the game pieces over to a member of staff when you collect your meal.

To find your nearest store, visit www.mcdonalds.com/gb/en-gb/restaurant-locator.html.

But if you’ve got a winning token or code, you may need to provide some of your personal details to be able to redeem it, such as your date of birth, email address and phone number.

You will then be asked to choose how you want to receive your winnings, which will be either via email or delivery.

There’s also a chance you’ll get an app play code to collect. This will be clear when you peel off the sticker.

You’ll need to have the app to enter the code and see if you’ve won a prize.

It’s free to download the app either from the Google Android or iPhone app stores.
