0

Day 3 of the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh saw the visitors get restricted to 26/6 at one stage. However, a 165-run stand between Litton Das and Mehidy Hsan Miraz led to an incredible recovery for the visitors. Litton would be dismissed after scoring a fine 138 while Mehidy lost his wicket to Khurram Shahzad on 78. Khurram would finish with amazing figures of 6/90 as Bangladesh got bowled out 262, just 12 runs short of Pakistan’s first inning total.

Bangladesh would finish the day on a high by taking 2 of Pakistan’s wickets in only 3.4 overs as the hosts were restricted to 9/2 before the day was brought to a close.

On Day 4, Bangladesh continued with their impressive bowling in the first session of play. Unlike the first Test which saw the spinners dominate for Bangladesh, this time it was the pacers who rattled the Pakistan batting order.

Pacer Nahid Rana picked up 3 big wickets during the first session of the day. He first dismissed Pakistan skipper Shan Masood on 28 before taking 2 other big scalps of Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel on 11 and 2 runs respectively to restrict the hosts to 81/6. However, the first wicket of the fourth day was bagged by pacer Taskin Ahmed who dismissed Saim Ayub on 20.

The partnership of Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha steadied Pakistan’s ship and made sure that their side didn’t lose any more wickets before lunch. The hosts finished the first session at 117/6 after 30 overs with Rizwan batting on 38 and Agha batting on 7. The hosts have a lead of 129 runs before the second session of the day commences.
