EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- The search continues for missing Carencro man Pierce Pitre.

Pierce, 31, is about 6-feet tall and has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and jeans.

Those who know Pitre said his car, a tan Toyota Camry, ran out of gas on Aug. 5 in the Swords neighborhood in Ville Platte. The car has been found and returned to his family, but Pitre is still missing.

Elizabeth Enos, a friend of Pitre's family, said she wants Sunday's foot search to bring hope to his family that they will get the information they are looking for.

"I know that as a parent, I would wish that something would give me closure, or a search party would be looking, don't stop searching for him," Enos said.

Scott Delahoussaye, another friend, said that they found a shirt that reads "Faith Can Mountains." He said he took the shirt as a sign that good things would come out of the search.

As the search for Pitre continues, Delahoussaye calls for law enforcement and anyone else with information on Pitre's whereabouts to help them.

"Until they find him, everybody should keep searching. Even law enforcement. That would be a big help if we could get a helicopter out here, maybe some drones that would help," Delahoussaye said.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. It was first handled by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.
