Semifinals
And then there were four.
The 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference comes down to its last two game dates with implications only ever growing bigger, continuing with the knockout semifinals at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, August 31, inadvertently pushed back two days due to a power outage at the PhilSports Arena.
Surprise top seed Akari, still undefeated after a historic 8-0 romp of the elimination round, looks to extend its date with destiny as a breakthrough finals appearance is well within reach. PLDT, back in the semis after two years of trying, looks to stifle that momentum with its veteran cast.
The Chargers and High Speed Hitters will be led by top imports Oly Okaro and Lena Samoilenko, respectively, while their local crews are expected to provide ample support.
On the other side of the bracket, two more battle-tested squads size up for the other knockout final berth: vaunted Creamline and ever-consistent Cignal.
The Cool Smashers, who reached the semis despite not having its MVP trio of Alyssa Valdez, Tots Carlos, and Jema Galanza, are gunning for a shot at their first Reinforced Conference title since 2018, while the HD Spikers look to build on a franchise-best second-place finish in the 2022 Reinforced tilt.
Here is the schedule of the semifinals:
Saturday, August 31 | Mall of Asia Arena
- 2:30 pm – Akari Chargers vs PLDT High Speed Hitters
- 4:30 pm – Cignal HD Spikers vs Creamline Cool Smashers
