Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has revealed that Micky van de Ven has been ruled out of the Lilywhties’ clash against Newcastle United this afternoon.
Micky Van de Ven went down hurt against Everton
Van de Ven picked up a knock towards the end of the first-half of Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Everton last week but the Dutchman seemed to shake it off and appeared to be moving without any discomfort in the second-half.
The centre-back was not spotted in the training video released by the club a few days ago, which raised potential concerns that he might miss the trip to St James’ Park.
Ange Postecoglou seemed to indicate a couple of days ago that the 23-year-old is expected to be available, telling the club’s official website that only Dominic Solanke and Richarlison have been ruled out of the game.

However, it has now emerged that Van de Ven has not recovered in time to make the trip to the North East, which comes as a big blow to Spurs.
Radu Dragusin is expected to start against the Magpies in Van de Ven’s place.

This is the Romanian’s opportunity to shine against decent opposition at a difficult away ground and there is no reason to think he will not rise to the occasion.
