WETHERSPOONS is gearing up to slash the price of its food and drink this month across the UK – how much could you save?
The popular pub chain is offering customers a 7.5% reduction to celebrate Tax Equality Day.
On Thursday, September 12, Brits can enjoy discounted prices on their favourite food and drinks.
On Tax Equality Day, you could get a large breakfast, which normally costs £9.99, for £9.25 – saving 74p – at Wetherspoons.
A breakfast wrap, priced at £6.21, would cost £5.75 on September 21, saving you 46p.
A pint of Bud Light, priced at £4.42, would cost you £4.09 – 33p less than usual.
And a 500ml bottle of Kopparberg cider, usually priced at £5.64, would cost £5.22 on the day.
Bear in mind that prices at Wetherspoons pubs vary across the UK, so you won’t always get the same discount.
Unfortunately for those in Scotland, the deal only applies to food and non-alcoholic drinks, the boozer chain confirmed.
If you want to find your nearest pub, you can use the locator tool on Wetherspoons’ website or app.
After selecting your location or adding your postcode, the tool will bring up your nearest boozer.
All food and drinks in pubs are subject to 20% VAT.
Punters in London can enjoy Wetherspoons’ reductions at the chain’s massive new train station pub, set to open within days after a £2.8million investment.
The Lion and The Unicorn will open at Waterloo station in London on Tuesday, September 3 in a move that’s set to delight commuters.
The boozer will launch in The Sidings, within the former Eurostar terminus and will create 70 jobs.
It is also set to become one of the biggest pubs Wetherspoons has opened at any train station in the UK.
Wetherspoon founder and chairman Tim Martin said: “The Lion and Unicorn is a wonderful looking pub and I am confident it will appeal to travellers using Waterloo station, as well as visitors to the capital.
“The pub will offer excellent value for money food and drink.”
The new pub’s interior design was inspired by the historic architecture that made The Lion And Unicorn Pavilion a fan favourite at the Festival of Britain in 1951.
It comes after the boss of Wetherspoons defended boozing after Ryanair’s chief called for a two-dink limit on passengers.
And punters are raving after it was announced a handful of pubs will be serving pints for just £2.
