Bangladesh raises cheque encashment limit to 500,000 taka

DHAKA, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- The central bank of Bangladesh has set a new cash withdrawal limit of 500,000 taka (4,166 U.S. dollars) via cheques per account per day for the current week starting from Sunday.

As per the latest circular from the Bangladesh Bank on Saturday, commercial banks in the country are now required to limit cash withdrawals to 500,000 taka per account daily, up from the previous limit of 400,
