Insiders Allege Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi’s Marriage Has ‘Taken a Toll’ After This Event
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been keeping a low profile since Ellen left the spotlight back in 2022. They’ve been keeping up their real estate empire, but insiders allege that even that may be diminishing due to a rough patch the pair may be going through.
If you need a reminder, the couple bought a $70 million mansion in Carpinteria, California, in 2022. However, this year, they’ve already sold it off, leading to breakup rumors. Insiders told InTouch Weekly that things may not be great at home.
“Ellen is known for flipping houses, but this one is different. It was their dream home,” they said. “They just celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary [on August 16], but it wasn’t exactly celebratory.”
And since Ellen has more or less retired from the spotlight, she’s home more, and it’s allegedly taken a toll.
“Ellen being home all the time has taken a toll on their marriage. And Portia isn’t working much either. They’re always in each other’s face, and frankly, they’re getting on each other’s nerves,” they added to the outlet. “Now Portia probably wishes she hadn’t. She doesn’t have her space. Every time she turns around, there’s Ellen… Ellen has lost so much in recent years — it would be terrible if she lost Portia, too.”
Maybe it’s a rough patch, or something more; but either way, their real estate moves have confused everyone.
For those who don’t know, DeGeneres and de Rossi started dating in 2004. Four years later, they married in Aug. 2008, at their Beverly Hills home.
As for their real estate portfolio, it’s quite expansive. They’ve bought and renovated a Bel Air Mansion for $29 million, their nearly $14 million Montecito Home, and their $8.8 million Coldwater Canyon Home, to name a few.
