Woman fatally shot in North Lawndale

A woman was shot and killed in North Lawndale early Saturday, police said.

The woman, 58, was in a car near a gathering in the 3900 block of West Ogden Avenue when someone fired shots from a nearby alley around 12:15 a.m., Chicago police said.

She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the neck. She died at the hospital.

No one is in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.
