Texas A&M student costs Pat McAfee $50k in College GameDay's field goal challenge after Shane Gillis' taunts
College football is officially back with the first full Saturday bringing a huge slate of games and the return of on-campus College GameDay. The ESPN crew — which now includes former Alabama head coach Nick Saban — set up shop in College Station ahead of the highly anticipated matchup between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 20 Texas A&M.

As part of the pre-game festivities, host and former kicker Pat McAfee offers up serious cash if a student can make a field goal. Lucas, a freshman and soccer player, missed his first attempt from 33 yards for $25,000 despite massive confidence. Comedian (and Notre Dame fan) Shane Gillis taunted the kicker as it fell just short.
After some crowd pressure, McAfee let Lucas try again, this time for $50k. It went differently.
