One unit is on resale for a jaw-dropping $248 on eBay.
Redditor Shivsbuttbot shared her desire to recreate the look, despite being unable to nab the real deal.
“I’ve been looking for an Ethereal Eyes dupe for a couple [of] months now,” she said.
“I had been trying to just build my own palette but it’s so expensive, not that the actual palette isn’t expensive.
“I looked into buying it on re-seller websites but it’s so easy for overseas factories to manufacture fake pallets that look exactly the same and with prices tagged over $100. I just couldn’t.
“Anyway, I normally shop at Sephora, but I was browsing Ulta in my hunt to recreate this palette and found this.”

She went with the Morphe Rich and Foiled Going Platinum Eyeshadow Palette, which is sold for $14.
Several makeup junkies gave their thoughts on the dupe in the comments section.
“Please tell me there are no glitters? What are the finishes? Shimmer, mattes?” one asked.
“No glitter. The first, third, eight and ninth pans are matter. The others are shimmery. I wouldn’t call them glitter at all,” the original poster replied.
“Wait, this is gorgeous,” another added.
“This actually looks beautiful,” said a third of the Morphe palette.
However, not all makeup fans were convinced that the dupe stood up to Makeup by Mario.
“I don’t know, the ethereal eyes just hits different,” they commented.
“Something about the glossy sparkles.”
Shoppers on Ulta, however, still praised the Morphe palette for its bold formulation.
“This is a perfect palette for the summer pinky eyeshadow look inspired by Sabrina Carpenter,” one wrote.
“All of the shades are pigmented and creamy and easy to blend.”
