Why India Should Not Travel To Pakistan For Champions Trophy 2025? Danish Kaneria Makes Big Statement

New Delhi: Former cricketer Danish Kaneria has advised India against traveling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, as uncertainty looms over the visit. Due to ongoing political tensions between the two nations, India refrained from playing in Pakistan during the 2023 Asia Cup. As a result, the tournament was held under a hybrid model, with Pakistan and Sri Lanka serving as co-hosts.

“Look at the situation in Pakistan I have to say that the Indian team should not go to Pakistan, and Pakistan should think about it,” Kaneria said on Sports Tak. “The ICC will make their decision and most likely Champions Trophy will be played in a hybrid model in Dubai.

“The safety of the players is the first priority. Respect is the second priority. I think BCCI is doing a great job. Whatever their decision is, other countries will also have to accept that. I think it will be a hybrid model” Kaneria added.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has made significant investments to enhance infrastructure and upgrade stadiums in preparation for hosting the Champions Trophy. Danish Kaneria also emphasized the importance of these efforts, stating, “They’re (PCB) equipped but they must upgrade the infrastructure first.” He further added, “Security is the biggest concern, a big question mark.”

The Pakistan Cricket Board has approved the upgrading of Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Stadium in Karachi, and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium, the three venues chosen to host the Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9.

Geo News reports that the Pakistan Cricket Board has sanctioned Rs 12.80 billion for the makeovers of the three selected venues. In connection with the development process, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently visited BDP Pattern’s office in London.

Mohsin Naqvi received BDP Pattern Chairman Chris Harding and other senior officials, after discussing with whom he gave the green light to the renovation plans of the stadiums. UK-based organization is considered one of the most professional organizations that has constructed around 200 international stadiums worldwide.
