Harris is shrugging off 'spiraling' Trump — and it's 'driving him crazy': columnist

More than a month into her presidential candidacy, Kamala Harris has so far managed to brush off a deluge of attacks from her Republican opponent — and one columnist wrote Friday it's "driving him crazy."

Karen Tumulty, a columnist for The Washington Post, called out a "standout moment" from her first sit-down interview as Democratic presidential nominee. When CNN anchor Dana Bash asked Harris her thoughts on Donald Trump's questioning of her racial identity, Harris needed just a handful of words to deftly swat away the attack.

Same old tired playbook. Next question, please," she said.

When Bash followed up, "That's it?" Harris didn't budge.

"That's it," she said.

Tumulty praised Harris' response — and said it's getting to Trump.

"Let’s hope Harris continues to shrug off Trump’s racist and misogynist attacks. It’s clearly driving him crazy," she said.

Tumulty said the MAGA leader appears to be "spiraling" in recent days.

"In a single 24-hour period, he used his social media platform to spread a crass joke about Harris performing a sex act; suggested without evidence that she and President Joe Biden were partially responsible for the assassination attempt upon him; promoted a QAnon slogan; and sent out fake images of Harris and a host of other leading Democratic figures in orange prison uniforms," wrote Tumulty.

The Harris campaign's response — no response, really.

Harris’s team "wisely" told the Post “Why would we step in this man’s way?”
