Former President Donald Trump was to address the Moms for Liberty Summit in Washington, D.C. on Friday evening.

Moms for Liberty is a far-right group that has been at the forefront of challenging the content found in school libraries around the country, often labeling mentions of sexual themes in literature as pornography. The group is known for its ties to the Proud Boys and has worked arm in arm with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to set policy.

In recent years, however, many local politicians with ties to the organization have struggled at the ballot box, with voters soundly defeating them in many key school board races.

The Moms for Liberty event comes after Trump hosted a rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the latest in a tour of the so-called "blue wall" states that could decide the election in November.
