The Sun’s Political Editor Harry Cole will take over legendary Trevor Kavanagh’s Monday column
THE Sun is delighted to announce that, from next week, our Political Editor Harry Cole will be taking over the Monday column slot occupied so brilliantly by our legendary columnist Trevor Kavanagh.
Harry will be bringing you all of the best insight, analysis, opinion and scoops from Westminster, in his own inimitable style.
Trevor announced his retirement in July[/caption]He’ll be kicking off on Monday by marking new PM Sir Keir Starmer’s homework after his first two months in power.
Trevor, who announced his retirement in July, said: “Millions of Sun readers are in for a treat on Monday as the brilliant Harry Cole takes over my slot as The Sun’s new must-read weekly political commentator.
“Since we are both on the same page, literally and politically, this should be a seamless transition.
“Especially since Harry will remain twinned with peerless cartoonist Steve Bright – “Brighty” – who brings our words so vividly to life.”
Harry said: “It is an incredible honour to be asked to even try to fill Trevor’s mighty boots. He is a titan of British political journalism and I can’t wait to pick up his sledgehammer.
“At a time of untrammelled Labour domination in Westminster, a Tory opposition in tatters and Nigel Farage on the march, there’s going to be plenty of feet to hold to the fire.”
Next week also sees the return of our pioneering Never Mind the Ballots politics show, after its short summer break.
As well as all the latest from Westminster, Harry and The Sun’s politics team will be keeping you up to date on the twists and turns in the knife-edge US Election battle.
The latest episode will be available on Thursday on YouTube and thesun.co.uk
