Angelina Jolie Shuts Down Brad Pitt Divorce Question, Talks Being 'Betrayed' in Relationships in New Interview

Angelina Jolie is not ready to talk about her divorce from ex-husband Brad Pitt and she shut down a question in an interview at the Venice Film Festival.

The Oscar-winning actress promoted her new movie Maria at the festival and Brad is also going to be at the festival in the coming days, though organizers have made sure they won’t cross paths.

The former couple split in 2016 and are still ironing out the details of their divorce years later. A source just opened up about the “pretty shocking” legal battle they’re still going through.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about Maria, Angelina actually brought up the divorce while explaining why she’s living in Los Angeles right now.

Angelina said, “I grew up in this town. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave. When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here. [After Los Angeles,] I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.”

When asked, “May I ask what the status of your divorce is?,” Angelina simply replied, “No.”

Angelina was asked if she has close friends who she can call at 3 in the morning.

She replied, ” I don’t really have those kinds of relationships. Maybe it’s losing your parent young. Maybe it’s working. Maybe it’s being somebody who’s been betrayed a lot. I don’t have a lot of those warm, close relationships as much that I lean on. But I have a few, and a few is enough. Loung [Ung, the Cambodian American human rights activist who is the subject of First They Killed My Father] is one of my closest friends. My mother was very close to me. I lost her. I’ve had a few friends over the years not be there for my family in their hour of need. I have a couple of people that I trust. What did Maria Callas die with? Two trusted people.”

Sources just debunked new relationship rumors about Angelina and a British rapper.
