I tried viral kitchen cleaning hacks with Fabulosa’s new £1 fruity range – the smell lasts for 72 hours
WHEN I heard that Fabulosa released a brand new cleaning range that leaves your home smelling amazingly sweet and fruity, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
The bargain brand already has an army of devoted cleaning fanatics who have cupboards full of their disinfectants.

The fragrance-led home and lifestyle brand released three brand-new multi-purpose cleaners with indulgent new aromas.
It includes a Watermelon fragrance, a fruity floral smell that indulges the senses; a Pineapple aroma, which has a refreshing and vibrant scent; and a Strawberry fragrance, which is soft and sweet and leaves your mouth watering.
I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to try out the new range and decided to put them to the test.
I decided to use them to try some viral cleaning hacks to see how long their incredible smells lasted in the kitchen.
I used one of the scents to clean the hob and the sink to see how well it worked on steel and chrome surfaces.
And the other two were used to test the viral bin-smelling hack and radiator trick.
Kitchen surfaces – Watermelon
First up, I used the watermelon-scented cleaner to wipe down my worktops and clean the hob, skinks and taps.
This was by far my favourite out of the trio of tropical smells and loved the fresh, fruity tones mixed with crisp cucumber.
Not only did it smell great, but it worked brilliantly. It removed all the dirt and grease from the hob effortlessly.
It also has a streak-free finish, so you don’t need to keep going over the same spots again and again. Just wipe it away with a microfibre cloth and it’s gleaming!
The cleaner is also incredible for getting rid of those stubborn sink smells that have a tendency to linger.
After wiping down the draining board, I wiped down the inside of the sink and popped a little down the drain before wiping and rinsing it away.
I then tried it on the taps and chrome finishes and it also left them shining and streak free.
When it comes to general cleaning, Fabulosa’s multi-purpose spray is perfect – especially for just £1!
I used it in the afternoon and could still smell the incredible watermelon scent right the next day after I got home from work, right through into the evening.
So the scenes easily last for at least around 27 hours.
I used the Pineapple fragrance to try the radiator cleaning trick[/caption]Radiator trick – Pineapple
I couldn’t wait to try out the Pineapple fragrance, with its fresh citrus zest I thought this would be perfect for the kitchen.
I opted to use it to give the radiator trick a go – this innovative hack is meant to ensure long-lasting fresh scents stay throughout the room.
All you have to do is spray the cleaner onto a microfibre cloth and then wipe down dusty radiators.
The technique is said to allow the radiator to spread the solution’s fresh scent through the home while the heating is on, long after the cleaning is done.
Although it did leave the radiators smelling incredible, it only lasted for a short time.
I found that the trick didn’t work particularly well and the smell wasn’t spread through the room when the heating was on.
It only very faintly lingered on materials that were near the radiator at the time, and disappeared from the radiator itself within the hour.
It did, however, leave it looking bright and squeaky clean after being wiped down!
MOP TO IT
Vernon Round regularly shares his top tips and products that will keep your house gleaming on Instagram, and he revealed the ultimate trick he swears by to get the most out of your cleaning disinfectant – creating his own reusable mop pads.
A 12-pack of Flash Speed Mop Replacement Cloths can cost £3.50 in supermarkets including Tesco and Morrisons.
Speaking about his “life-saving” cleaning hack, Vernon said: “Girlies I wished someone told me about this…
“I thought to myself all of these single use products I’ve been using are filling up my bins? So I just thought of this Fabulosa hack.
“I went for Fabulosa’s Multi Purpose cleaner in the Fizzy Bottles fragrance, as it smells unreal and does wonders for cleaning and shining.”
To recreate Vernon’s savvy trick, grab an empty 1-litre jar, and add both 500ml of water and 125ml of disinfectant.
After placing your mixture in a jar, add in your multipack of microfibre clothes, allowing them to soak for at least 30 minutes before use.
You’ll be left with a fully saturated batch of reusable cloths, which can be used around the house for general cleaning, or attached to the bottom of your mop as a DIY mop pad.
Bin-smelling hack – Strawberry
Fans of Mrs Hinch will already be familiar with this clever trick to get rid of bin odour in your home.
As food waste gets thrown in the bin, it can sometimes emit a horrible, lingering smell in your kitchen.
This is usually due to bacteria building up in the bin liner, which is why using Fabulosa’s multi-purpose cleaner makes perfect sense.
I use the Strawberry scented cleaner for this one, and all you have to do is spray a little bit on some kitchen roll and put it at the bottom of the bin before you put the bin liner in.
For good measure, I also sprayed the outside of the bin liner before popping it in as well.
This makes it smell clean and fresh (and in my case with the strawberry scent, sweet and fruity) while getting rid of the smell of food.
I found this trick to be brilliant for banishing unwanted rubbish smells from the kitchen and every time I went to use the bin I was greeted with a lovely smell of fresh strawberries.
The smell lasted for about three days, or 72 hours, which is usually when I need to empty the bin anyway.
And even as I emptied the bin, the full bag of rubbish didn’t stink as I changed the bin liners.
It also worked brilliantly for keeping the inside of the bin nice and clean as well without having to give it a full scrub!
