My hair was falling out in clumps but a 3-step wash routine transformed it, now it’s so thick & shiny people are jealous
A WOMAN has shared the three step routine she used to get her hair from thin and patchy, to thick and healthy.
Mani Hamalikk, revealed that she has been suffering with hair loss for the past year, and has been working really hard to improve her hair care routine.
Mani’s hair used to fall out in clumps[/caption]Taking to TikTok, the wedding and event content creator shared a picture of large clumps of her hair, which she said used to fall out every time she had a shower.
She then showed viewers a picture of the back of her head, which was extremely thin and patchy.
“I started having bald spots, and that was not pretty”, she said.
To stop her hair from falling out, Mani started oiling her hair with three different oils.
The first oil she uses is grapeseed oil, which you can pick up from Amazon for £3.99.
The oil helps to strengthen the hair shaft and promotes a natural shine.
Mani uses three table spoons of the oil, but she said that this depends on how much hair you have.
She also uses rosemary oil, which has been proven to stimulate hair growth.
You can pick rosemary oil up from Boots for £6, and Mani uses two pumps of it when she is oiling her hair.
The final oil that Mani uses is pumpkin seed oil, which you can find on Amazon for £4.99.
Pumpkin seed oil is full of nutrients such as zinc, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for healthy hair.
Zinc helps to keep the scalp healthy and promotes hair growth.
Once a week, Mani mixes the oils together and massages it into her scalp and on the ends of her hair.
She then ties her hair up with a silk hair band and puts a plastic bag over her head, to steam her hair for half an hour.
The 4 stages of the hair growth cycle
Hair experts at Philip Kingsley shared the four stages of the hair growtn cycle are: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen
Anagen Phase: Also known as the ‘Growth Phase’ or ‘Active Phase’, is when the cells in the root of your hair are most rapidly dividing so more new hair is formed.
During the Anagen Phase, hair grows around half an inch a month [about six inches a year], and faster in the summer than in winter.
This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.
Catagen Phase: Following the Anagen Phase, your hair cycle enters a short transitional phase known as the Catagen Phase, which signals the end of active hair growth and cuts individual hairs off from the blood supply and from the cells that produce new hair.
Approximately three percent of all hairs are in this stage at any time and it lasts for around 10 days.
Telogen Phase: The third stage of your natural hair growth cycle is the Telogen Phase, a resting period when strands remain in their follicles but are not actively growing.
An estimate of 10-15 percent of your hairs are in the Telogen Phase at any given moment.
The Telogen Phase lasts around three months or 100 days.
Exogen Phase: The final stage of the Hair Growth Cycle, when individual hair strands are released from their follicles and fall out.
Now the whole process begins again.
After she has finished steaming her hair, Mani washes the oil off in the shower.
“The key is to stay consistent”, she said.
Mani’s hair now looks unrecognisable from before she started using the oils, and her thick long locks look so healthy and shiny.
“You can see a lot of growth and shine in it now”, she said.
“It has improved a lot.”
Mani’s video, posted under the username @manihamalikkk, has likely left many people impressed, as it has racked up over 158,000 views on the video sharing platform.
