Plans to build hundreds of housing units at a former golf course in Maplewood are contentious: there's the golfers, who are unhappy they lost their course. There's the environmentalists who don't want to lose habitat after documented sightings of the rusty patch bumblebee. And then there's the city council, which didn't mince words when they told developers they think the plans look cheap.
