Scott Previews Celtic Clash

0

Grant Scott is aware of the "many threats" Celtic possess as his Hibs side travel to Airdrie on Friday (30 August) evening to face the league holders.

Scott's side have won four games from four to start the 2024/25 SWPL season strong, but face what is undeniably their toughest opponent yet at the Albert Bartlett Stadium.

Speaking to Hibs TV, The Gaffer declares his in-form squad are "looking forward" to the challenge.

"We should be fully prepared by the time the match comes, I’m looking forward to the challenge. We hope we’ve managed to spot a few things in their game that we’ll manage to optimise for ourselves.

"It’ll be bold to say we’re too confident against the reigning champions, you’re going to expect a tough one.

"We didn’t manage to take points from them last season, for example. But there is a confidence in the group amongst themselves and if we take that into the game, we’ve got a chance."

While well-aware of the quality in Elena Sadiku's playing squad, Scott stresses the significance of self-belief heading into the match.

"It’s important that we take our own confidence in each other into the match. Whatever XI starts, we have to go into these moments together.

"Fortunately I think we’ve got a good group for that this year - not that it was bad last year - but there is a focus and hunger about this lot."

As expected, Scott will not shuffle too much in regards to the starting line-up following four fantastic results to kick-off the new campaign.

"We’re not going to make wholesale changes, just a couple of tweaks here and there.

"It’ll be along the same lines as how we normally approach a match. But we have to be careful as Celtic have many threats."
