Ferguson: Everyone Is Looking Forward To Friday Night
Abbie Ferguson insists "everyone is looking forward to Friday night’s game" as Hibs Women travel to face Celtic at the Albert Bartlett Stadium.
The winger, like her teammates, has started the season in excellent form. Ferguson nabbed Hibs' first 2024/25 season goal versus Partick Thistle and has continually impressed since on the right flank.
Ferguson, speaking to Hibs TV, is fearless ahead of Friday's fixture but wary of the danger SWPL holders Celtic carry in their squad.
"We’ve had a great start. We’ve had a lot of different scorers. We just have to take confidence into the game.
"Everyone knows it’s going to be tough but we’re looking forward to it after the run we’ve just had."
Hibs failed to take points from eventual league winners Celtic in four attempts last season, but Ferguson insists the Hibees are a more mature unit now than they were.
"Last season was definitely up and down, but the players we brought in this season are more experienced.
"That window just there we brought in Ciara Grant and Kirsten Reilly, that’s definitely helped us in this run."
Whilst aware of how strong Elena Sadiku's side can be on their day, Ferguson is more keen to get going than stressed ahead of the clash.
"I don’t think I feel pressure going into it. We just have to look forward to the game.
"I really do think we can get something from the game, if everyone focuses on the game plan.
"I think it’s more excitement than pressure."
