Missing swimmer found dead in Paphos

Rescue workers on Thursday located a 31-year-old man who had been reported missing after he went for a swim in the Pegeia area in Paphos.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre said it received an alert about a missing person at around 3.30pm. Patrol boats as well as a helicopter were dispatched to the area to locate the person.

The man was found in an unconscious state, and rushed to Paphos general hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
