Britain’s ‘cheapest breakfast’ where a giant full English costs just £3 – as diners heap praise on ‘best coffee ever’
AN OLD-school cafe with a £3 full English breakfast has been hailed as the “cheapest breakfast” in Britain.
Reviewers on TripAdvisor have praised Caffi Treferwyn in Corwen for its affordable breakfast and coffee.

One person said: “Excellent little cafe.
“Breakfast for £3.85 – full English – nice proper butcher’s chipolatas etc, quality ingredients and the best milky coffee I have had in a very long time.”
A second person added: “My husband had a lovely breakfast here. Most satisfied indeed.
“Lovely hearing Welsh being spoken by the locals, always a good sign to see places supported like that. We are on holiday, price was amazing.”
Meanwhile a third person added: “This is a very friendly and welcoming cafe to visit.
“It may be a little old fashioned but there’s nothing wrong with that and the food is tasty and very reasonably priced.
“Overall it’s a great value cafe with quality food served by a friendly staff. They also have a variety of greeting cards and gifts for sale.
“Well worth a visit.”
The cafe is a hit with tourists and locals alike, with local popping down for breakfast.
They said: “We only live up the road but we pop down sometimes for a breakfast.
“Beautifully cooked food, great sausages and bacon, gorgeous fried bread, all served piping hot.
“The ladies who work here are lovely, couldn’t be friendlier.
“The tea is very good and it’s very good value for a perfectly cooked breakfast.”
The old fashioned greasy spoon cafe consists of two rooms with table and chairs and is full of cheap food options.
The menu offers toasted sandwiches from £3 with varieties of bacon, sausage, egg and cheese, while jacket potato will set you back a staggering £2.30, as well as coffee for £1.30 and tea for £1.10.
A side of black pudding with your breakfast will put you back 80p.
Meanwhile those who are looking for the cheapest fish and chips will have to head to the Merchants Fish and Chips in Halesowen in the West Midlands.
The mega discount slashed their usual £7 fish and chips to just a penny – nearly 100 per cent off.
Pat Williams, 78, travelled all the way from Kidderminster, Worcs., to be first in line.
She said: “I wanted to make good use of my free bus pass and take advantage of this amazing offer.
“I’ve come along with a friend who I worked with for 50 years and we thought it would give us a bit of a different day out.”
Meanwhile, a loyal customer Jackson Kinyoe, 36, from Wolverhampton, said: “I work this way so I’m a regular customer and come here for my lunch quite a lot and the haddock is lovely.
“What usually sets my back £7 a time is today going to cost me a penny – it’s brilliant.”
