Registration of muslim marriages, divorces in Assam a must now

The Assam assembly has passed a bill mandating the registration of Muslim marriages and divorces. This new legislation ensures marriages with minors will be deemed illegal, and the process will now be overseen by the government instead of a Qazi. Previous registrations by Qazis will remain valid.
