Star of smash-hit Prime Video thriller begs streaming bosses to renew series as its fate hangs in the balance
KATJA Herbers, the star of the popular supernatural thriller Evil, has made an urgent plea for the show to be brought back after Paramount+ bosses said it would be axed.
The actress has taken to social media asking executives to renew it for a fifth season in the wake of Stephen King publicly endorsing the series.

“It’s great. It’s funny and it’s witty and it’s very, very sharp.”
Katja, who appeared thrilled by the endorsement, shared the clip alongside a heartfelt message saying: “Okay, can we do the pick up now? Thank you, Stephen King.”
The horror afficionado responded to Katja’s post, describing the show as “smart, thought-provoking, occasionally VERY scary”.
He added: “Plus, the chemistry between the three evil-hunters is strong and…to quote Kamala…joyful.”
Stephen King’s enthusiastic support has fueled hopes that the series could return despite its imminent cancellation.
Evil was created by Robert King and Michelle King – who emphasised that they have no relation to Stephen King.
The series, which is also available to stream on Prime Video, is about a psychologist who joins a Catholic priest-in-training to investigate unexplained mysteries and phenomena within the church.
Earlier this year, Paramount+ announced that Evil would end after its fourth season, with an additional four episodes to wrap up existing storylines.
In a conversation with Deadline following the series finale, Robert King acknowledged the show’s uncertain future, suggesting that industry changes played a role in its cancellation.
“If we’re a victim of anything, it’s timing,” he shared.
“Obviously, since the strike, but also the Wall Street reevaluation of the business, there’s been a change in attitude on things.
“As you probably know, with Paramount+ there is as some reevaluation of what they’re doing and the decision was made to end the show.
“And I think the popularity of the show didn’t really hit until after some of those decisions were made.”
