New Delhi: Real Madrid’s star forward Kylian Mbappe found himself at the centre of a controversy on 29th August when his X account was hacked. Many provocative tweets were posted from his handle, which drew serious attention in the football community.

These posts also strangled the long-standing rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The hacker did not stop at this rivalry, however. It also included serious comments about prominent Premier League teams, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

These posts were controversial and very critical among football enthusiasts and they quickly became the talking point for the whole football community. Later on, the posts were removed shortly after being published. Mbappe, who recently joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 after years of speculation, has had a mixed start to his career in Spain.

Despite scoring on his competitive debut in the UEFA Super Cup, the Frenchman has struggled to find consistent form during his early days at the Santiago Bernabeu. The hacking incident only adds to the challenges he faces as he seeks to establish himself as a key player for Los Blancos.

Carlo Ancelotti who is the head coach of Real Madrid, has dismissed concerns over Mbappe’s recent performances, showing confidence that the forward will soon hit the stride. however, the hacking incident serves as a reminder of the constant pressures faced by the top-ranked footballers. Even a little misstep, as you can see in this case, the incident went out of control and can quickly create a critical issue.

“His last goal was on August 14th. It has only been two weeks since, so that is no reason to worry. Neither we are not worried as a club, nor him,” Ancelotti told on Wednesday, ahead of Thursday’s La Liga match at Las Palmas.

“He is very happy here, delighted, sure he wants to score in the next game. So does Vinicius, who has yet to score this season and I don’t see him worried either,” he said

“(Mbappé) is progressing really well, I see him doing better every day, excited, motivated, training well. He is very humble. I think his adaptation is going really well.” he added.
