Disgusting moment US Open star vomits on court before incredibly recovering to reach next round
TENNIS star Tomas Martin Etcheverry made it through to the US Open third round despite VOMITING in his last match.
Several players have been struggling with the intense heat in New York this week.
Temperatures have soared above 30°C on court, prompting extra hydration breaks.
But it was too much for Etcheverry during his second-round match against Francisco Cerundolo.
Deep into the fifth set and approaching the fourth hour, the 25-year-old approached the line and prepared to return serve.
However, he quickly raised his arm to pause and turned around before projectile vomiting over the court.
Despite the wave of sickness, Etcheverry was able to play on.
And he incredibly went on to win the match 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
Etcheverry will now face Alexander Zverev in the third round.
British tennis star Dan Evans overcame the heat to beat Russia’s Karen Khachanov in the longest match in US Open history on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old was 4-0 down in the decider but somehow took the next six games to win 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-4.
He later said: “I just tried to keep fighting – at 4-0 I thought I was out.
“I’ve got a bad headache now. It was a hell of a match. I just want to go to bed.”
