Ballot measures in 41 states give voters a say on abortion and other tough questions

0
Voters across the U.S. aren't just casting ballots this fall for president and other top offices. They'll also vote on dozens of contentious issues involving life, health, crime and taxes. More than 140 ballot measures are going before voters in the general election. They include constitutional amendments in at least nine states to enshrine abortion rights. Numerous proposals would change voting procedures. In several states, voters will decide questions on raising their minimum wage, cutting property taxes and legalizing marijuana for adults. Other measures seek to toughen state enforcement of immigration and crime laws.
