Beachgoers flock to Jersey Shore for final hot streak of the season
ASBURY PARK, N.J. (PIX11) -- The beach at Asbury Park was packed Wednesday, with people taking advantage of the warm temperatures before the start of school.
“We saw there was one more 90-degree day, so we headed down here immediately,” said Bill Salisbury, who traveled from Woodbury, New York.
“We came here today to enjoy the gorgeous weather, and it’s absolutely perfect today,” said Meryl Gelbman, who was enjoying the boardwalk with friends.
The workers at Pucker Lemonades and Beach Fries stayed busy.
“Today, it’s actually busier than I thought it would be,” said employee Michael Crean.
Many families came for a quick final vacation before their kids returned to school.
“We’re trying to hold onto summer as much as we can,” said Chatham mom Halle Lieberman. “We have school tomorrow, so really trying to enjoy the last few days.”
