Sandro Tonali made his comeback after a 10-month suspension as Newcastle beat Nottingham Forest on penalties in the Carabao Cup. Sean Longstaff scored the winning spot-kick after Ibrahim Sangare and Taiwo Awoniyi missed efforts for Forest.
