Vans Drops OTW Old Skool 36 Pearlized in ‘Marshmallow’ and ‘Black’ Colorways
OTW by Vans has announced today that it will be releasing the OTW Old Skool 36 Pearlized in “Marshmallow” and “Black” colorways.
OTW Old Skool 36 Pearlized silhouette is made to reflect Vans Premium ethos of emphasized modern comfort, elevated materials, and updated form, fit, and feeling of Vans classic models. Retailing for $130, the new sneaker features textural distressed and greased suede uppers along with pearl and crystal embellishments in order to emulate a well-worn shoe that has been repaired and customized along the way as it has traveled to many destinations.
The idea is a unique one built upon breathing life into beloved silhouettes. The release follows the similar and now sold-out release of OTW by Vans x Satoshi Nakamoto Pearlized Old Skool sneaker.
Style 36 debuted in 1977, marking the second skate shoe ever created by Vans. The silhouette was the first Vans shoe to feature the iconic Sidestripe and was renamed the Old Skool following it’s launch in the ’90s. Today, the shoe is a classic among Vans styles. Design details include a higher glossed sidewall and detailed stitching.
Founded in 1966 in Anaheim, Calif by Paul Van Doren, his brother James, and Gordon C. Lee, Vans is a major fixture of the footwear scene, monopolizing and perfecting skateboarding-inspired sneakers, accessories and apparel. Beyond their own line of signature styles, Vans has also lent its range of skateboarding-inspired footwear silhouettes to a myriad of big names including Gucci, Supreme, Barbie and Disney.
OTW by Vans, or “Off The Wall,” is the most aspirational expression of Vans rooted in celebrating skateboarding’s impact on culture. OTW by Vans pushes the boundaries of product design and brand experiences with innovators from skateboarding, art, fashion, design, and entertainment.
Vans OTW Old Skool 36 Pearlized sneaker in both colorways will be available starting Sept. 6 across otw.vans.com and curated wholesale partners.
