Cameron and Cayden Boozer to unofficially visit Duke this weekend, hometown schools in September
By SAM LANCE
Five-star twin brothers Cameron and Cayden Boozer will take an unofficial visit to Duke on Aug. 31, a source confirmed to ZAGSBLOG. The sons of five-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer will also unofficially visit Florida and Miami in early September, per Travis Branham.
Branham reported the decision will come down to Duke, Florida and Miami.
Cameron and Cayden have both shared thoughts on these schools previously to ZAGSBLOG:
Duke: “Duke is obviously a great school, one of the most winningest schools in college basketball. So that’s obviously very impressive for them. Just the way the get at it and make deep runs each year.”
On relationship with head coach Jon Scheyer: “We’ve been building it for a long time, I think since freshman year. So we have a good relationship.”
Florida: “Coach [Todd] Golden, he’s young. He’s hungry and he wants to win. So I really think that’s the biggest thing that stands out about them.”
Miami: “They play really fast. They’re a great team. Great coach. Coach [Jim] Larrañaga is a great coach. One of the best coaches in college. One of the winningest coaches in college. He’s been in the game a long time, so. I’d say they pride themselves on defense and they play fast. Things like that.”
Duke: “Their playstyle is great. I like how their guards get involved. They can play on and off the ball. Every Duke guard that I see, they always just get better while they are there. It prepares them for the NBA.”
On head coach Jon Scheyer: “I feel like I have a good relationship with him. We talk every week just about basketball, or whatever. We just talk a lot and I have a good relationship with him.”
Miami: “They play really fast and I feel like they are kind of a pro-style offense. I love their program. They made the Final Four two years ago and they are just trying to become a team that’s always getting into the tournament. Obviously, they didn’t have their best year last year but they’re always trying to be one of those top teams.”
On head coach Jim Larrañaga: “He’s a great coach. He’s really wise. He knows a lot about the game, has a lot of experience. He has coached a lot of teams, small divisions and Power Five. So I mean with all that experience, I feel like I can learn a lot from him.”
Cayden wasn’t asked about Florida when interviewed last.
Duke and Miami do not have any commits in the 2025 class. Florida currently has two in CJ Ingram and Alex Lloyd, who was a teammate of the Boozer’s on Nightrydas Elite. That trio won Peach Jam together this summer and Lloyd has previously said he’s recruiting the twins.
