Looking to make it three in a row

The Athletics secured their second straight win against an NL Central opponent last night, beating the Cincinnati Reds in the first game of the after beating the Brewers on Sunday. Now they’ll try to make it three straight wins in the middle game against their longtime foes.

Starting tonight’s game for the A’s will be rookie righty Osvaldo Bido. The club should have plenty of confidence in their young starting pitcher heading into this one. He is on an absolute roll right now. Over his past four starts he’s thrown 23 innings while allowing just three total runs. He’s done it while averaging a strikeout an innings and keeping the walks to a manageable level, even if we’d like to see him cut down there. He’ll be pitching in a very hitter friendly ballpark tonight so that’ll be a new challenge for him but he’s up to the task.

Oakland’s lineup tonight looks exactly the same as last night’s:

That lineup will be going up against Reds right-hander Fernando Cruz. This like likely to be the first of many bullpen arms as Cruz is making his first start of the year after pitching as a middle reliever for the entire year. If they can jump on him early an early lead would go a long way tonight.

Here’s how Cincinnati will lineup up here in game two tonight:

Let’s go A’s! A win tonight secures the series and gives us a chance at a sweep tomorrow!
