Trump supporter gets a scolding after hurling racist abuse at Bedminster council meeting

Chaos erupted at a town council meeting in Bedminster, New Jersey after an angry Trump supporter made racist remarks against a resident, reported Staten Island Live.

At issue was a controversial change to local parking rules. Earlier this month, the town council unanimously voted to abolish parking on Clucas Brook Road, a road near former President Donald Trump's golf club which is commonly used for parking by people attending rallies for Trump held on the grounds of a local library.

The all-Republican council made the decision because of safety issues and noise complaints, and some members of the community supported the change — but some Trump supporters very much did not, with many out-of-towners coming from other counties in New Jersey to proclaim the rules a violation of free speech and political persecution.

A man from Waretown County who frequents Trump rallies complained during the meeting about the new rule, saying, “I can’t drive two hours and then not have a place to park my car on a public street.”

Things escalated after a local Asian-American resident spoke in support of the new ordinance, after which that original speaker demanded that person “Go back to China.”

After this, Committeeman Douglas Stevenson stepped in.

“‘Go back to China,’ give me a break. You don’t come into my chambers and attack my residents like that,” he said, calling the remark “unacceptable.”

Refusing to apologize, the man called the council "Nazis."

Along with his official residence at the Mar-a-Lago country club in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump's Bedminster golf club is a frequent haven for him. He has delivered news conferences from the location, including one two weeks ago in which he attacked Vice President Kamala Harris' economic record, and is reportedly planning to host an "awards gala" for convicted January 6 rioters on the property early next month.
