Duplex Clark is a minimal home located in Montréal, Canada, designed by Table Architecture. This thoughtful renovation breathes new life into a classic row house, transforming it into a haven that seamlessly adapts to the ebb and flow of daily life while offering a serene retreat from the urban hustle. The reintroduction of an interior staircase not only restores access to the upper level but also refines the exterior facade to its purest form. The grey stone exterior, now lovingly restored, stands as a testament to the building’s heritage, its balcony, cornice, and ornate jambs reconstructed with exquisite attention to historical detail. A modern addition, clad in standing seam zinc, stands in elegant juxtaposition to the original structure. This metallic volume, reminiscent of the neighborhood’s charming alleyway sheds, complements the residence’s rear L-shaped section. Here, a terrace and balcony blur the boundaries between interior and exterior, offering a seamless transition to the outdoors while maintaining a sanctuary of privacy for the home’s inhabitants.

At the heart of the interior lies a central volume, orchestrating the flow of space and connecting disparate areas with graceful precision. Built-in furnishings, both practical and aesthetically pleasing, create an inviting ambiance where every nook beckons exploration.
