Fire outside apartment leads to Topeka man arrested

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A 44-year-old Topeka man was arrested for a warrant and one count of arson after allegedly starting a fire in front of an apartment building on Tuesday.

At 9 p.m., the Topeka Fire Department (TFD) was called to the 1300 block of Western Ave. for reports of a fire in the front yard of an apartment building. According to the TFD, the fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries or significant structural damage were reported.

A TFD investigation unit determined the fire was intentionally set, as a result of their investigation, a 44-year-old man from Topeka was arrested.
