Switching rural Indian households from wood, dung, and coal to LPG for cooking could save over 150,000 lives annually by reducing air pollution, says a Vital Strategies study. Targeted benefits, mainly in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh, include decreased infant mortality and improved outcomes for those with chronic illnesses.
