The Warren County Sheriff's Office reported that one person drowned in Lake George on Tuesday. Also, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is searching for a wanted man. These stories, and more, are in your five things to know this Wednesday.

1. One dead in Lake George drowning

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office announced that one person has died in a drowning at Lake George on Tuesday. It happened in the area of Lamb Shanty Bay in Hague.

2. Montgomery County Sheriff searches for wanted man

The search is on for a Montgomery County businessman wanted for multiple charges, including endangering the welfare of a child. They say they are looking for 35-year-old Daniel Steven Garrow in connection with patronizing a person for prostitution and endangering the welfare of a child.

3. Family sues Albany Med for death of toddler

Keri-Sue McManus and her husband have filed a lawsuit against Albany Medical Center, alleging medical malpractice and wrongful death. Their legal team, led by attorney Joe Ciaccio, argues that current New York State law inadequately compensates families like the McManuses for their emotional pain and suffering.

4. Anonymous donor saves Troy after-school program

An after-school program in Troy was almost forced to shut its doors this month until an anonymous donor stepped in. The program, called the Ark, has been helping Troy families for 45 years.

5. Period products are now free at SUNY and CUNY schools

On Monday, a bill requiring public colleges and universities in New York to provide free menstrual products in campus restrooms became a new law. In support of Women’s Equality Day, Governor Kathy Hochul signed new legislation to expand resources for women’s health.
