'Do what's right': OKC business owner says short term rental owner owes $18K
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – An Oklahoma City-based cleaning business says another business owner owes her more than $18,000 for invoices that haven't been paid.
Breezy Arnold is the owner of Flawless Housekeeping & Organizing. Arnold said she reached out to News 4 after prolonged issues getting payment from one of her clients, Klover, LLC.
"Everything seemed great in the beginning and then it just went downhill," said Arnold.
Arnold said her team had been working for Klover, LLC since February and that while payment for invoices had been paid in a timely manner before; she's seen more delays and excuses in recent months.
"He would say, yes, I'll get it taken care of tonight," said Arnold when asked what excuses she has heard. "I'm sorry, I've been busy."
Arnold noted that originally Klover, LLC paid her via a cash exchange app service, but as payments became more infrequent and invoices staked up, she noted she wouldn't accept that service and required another form of payment.
Arnold said that Klover, LLC noted a check would be mailed for the invoice due, but that check never arrived. Arnold showed a News 4 employee invoices totaling over $18,000 for the services.
"I have never not been paid, ever," said Arnold. "This is the first time experiencing this."
Arnold said she sent Klover, LLC a letter August 6 noting that she wanted to part ways with the business due to nonpayment and unprofessionalism. Arnold said that Klover, LLC has not responded to the email, but has viewed an invoice notice multiple times since it was delivered.
News 4 reached out to Taylor Volk with Klover, LLC multiple times Tuesday; but never heard back. An employee stopped by Volk's address, provided by Arnold. Volk's neighbors said his truck was there, but no one answered the door.
Arnold said the stress of the situation has had a big impact on her business.
"When we do a job, if I have workers working for me, I always have to pay them out," said Arnold. "I can never not pay someone just because someone, they don't pay me."
Arnold said she's taken one step towards hopefully getting a response from Klover, LLC.
"I went to the state and put liens on all his properties, hoping that he would receive the letter for those and take action to pay us," said Arnold. "Just do what's right and pay us. That's all I would have to say to him."
