Nottingham Forest Send Delegation To Netherlands To Convince Striker Target
A Nottingham Forest delegation are on their way to the Netherlands to try and convince Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez to accept a move to the City Ground this summer.
Nottingham Forest’s search for a new striker is set to enter the final 48 hours of the ongoing transfer window.
Eddie Nketiah decided against taking up a move to the East Midlands after Forest agreed a fee with Arsenal.
Forest also have a deal in place with Feyenoord for a fee of €35m for Gimenez but the Mexican rejected the Premier League club earlier this week
However, Nottingham Forest are trying to change the striker’s mind and according to Dutch outlet 1908.nl, a high-powered delegation are set to arrive in Rotterdam today to hold talks with the Mexico international.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has had several rounds of talks with the striker and his entourage to convince him about the move.
The Forest delegation will meet the striker and his father and try to sell a move to the City Ground this summer.
Nottingham Forest are hoping that the striker will agree to travel to England on Thursday if the meetings go according to plan.
Feyenoord are convinced that Gimenez wants to play in the Premier League and Forest have improved their offer to the striker to provide a financial incentive for him to accept the move.
