FREDDIE Brazier had a ‘secret feud with dad Jeff’ as it’s claimed he ‘stormed out of the house after stand up rows.’
Earlier this month, Jade Goody’s youngest son Freddie Brazier made his TV debut alongside dad Jeff, 45, in Celebrity Race Across The World.
And his father said at the time that he hopes it will give the pair time to bond after admitting he rarely sees his 19-year-old son — despite living in the same house together.
But during the series so far, they’ve made no secret that there are cracks in their relationship.
And family and friends of the pair have said it can get so bad between the father and son that Freddie will often stay with his grandmother, Jade’s mum Jackiey Budden, in her two-bed flat in Bermondsey, after stand up rows.
“Freddie will often turn up on the doorstep, sometimes very unhappy, and wanting to see his nan,” a source told the Mail.
They continued: “He and Jeff often argue, the rows can be bad, things go really, really pear shaped between them and that’s it, he leaves.
“While Jackiey has her issues – and will be the first to admit she isn’t the most perfect or archetypal grandmother – he can share his feelings with her which is something he can’t do at Jeff’s.
“He has had a terribly sad life but he feels he can’t talk about it.”
Freddie was just four when his mum Jade lost her battle with cancer in March 2009, aged 27.
And Jeff has spoken about how he’s felt the need to step up as a dad to help his son after his mother Jade’s death.
The source continued: “Jeff took the boys in when Jade died, he took them away from the limelight and did his best to bring them up amid such difficult circumstances but sadly Freddie just can’t see eye to eye with him.”
Viewers have already seen TV presenter Jeff storm off from his son during an explosive row on the first episode of the BBC show.
Although their first trek across Brazil began positive, the smiles were soon wiped from the father-son duo’s face after their sour clash.
During a long coach ride, friction appeared to be bubbling between the pair.
At one point, Freddie could be heard saying: “I don’t think Dad’s coping well.”
Later, during a stop in the coach journey, they clashed over family life as Freddie blasted how “open” the family were with each other at home.
Freddie said: “I don’t think we are open as a family.”
Wound up, Jeff hit back at his son: “What have I done for the last seven or eight years?
“You need to take responsibility, that is part of this.”
It led to Jeff walking off from his son in fury as he huffed and puffed his way back onto the coach.
Seemingly feeling awkward, Freddie shot a guilty smile down the lens of the camera.
Expressing his feelings, Freddie said to the camera: “A part of me came on this race to open up with my dad and already he is storming off and it’s hard.”
In a bid to make things right between them, Freddie decided to apologise to his father after their bitter spat.
He joined his dad aboard the bus and apologised for the row and placed his head lovingly on his dad’s shoulder.
After the episode aired, fans were already declaring that the pair should win the show as they began rooting for them to beat co-stars Kelly Brook and fiance Jeremy, Kola Bikinni and his cousin Mary Ellen and Scott Mills and his then-fiance Sam.
