Global benchmarks trade mixed as markets await Nvidia earnings

Global shares are mixed in muted trading as investors await a closely watched earnings report from Nvidia. Benchmarks rose in early Wednesday trading in France and Germany, while inching down in Britain. In Asia, shares finished lower in China, while rising in Japan and changing little in Australia and South Korea. Toyota stock jumped more than 3% after Japanese media reported that Japan’s top automaker will announce a cooperative agreement on fuel cells with European automaker BMW. Nvidia reports its latest results Wednesday. Also high on investors’ watch is the expectation that the Federal Reserve will cut its main interest rate in September.
