FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Happy Wednesday!
Our very hot and humid stretch continues on, and in fact, today looks to be the hottest. We'll be looking at near-record heat this afternoon, as highs warm to the upper 90s, with "feels-like" temps well into the triple digits as a result of that high humidity. Additionally, we've got a boundary that will move south through the state later, bringing scattered storms to the region late-afternoon and this evening.
The Storm Prediction Center has our area under a 2-out-of-5 risk for severe storms, which will primarily be a strong wind and quick heavy rain threat.
Those storms clear up early overnight, then for tomorrow, we'll just be looking at an isolated storm chance. We'll still be hot and sticky, just not quite as hot. Highs drop back to the lower 90s.
Friday starts dry, with highs in the middle 90s, and feeling hotter. We'll then be tracking storms along a cold front late Friday and overnight into Saturday.
Saturday looks to start with a few scattered showers along that front, which will be decreasing in coverage into the afternoon.
