Reported shooting on Robicheaux Road leads to arrest of 62-year-old woman, Broussard police say
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A 62-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting reported on Robicheaux Road, according to the Broussard Police Department.
Stephenia Arabie was charged with attempted second-degree murder and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, authorities say.
Police said they went to the 300 block of Robicheaux Road at around 2:30 p.m. in response to a report of a vehicle that was shot at.
Investigators were able to get a search warrant for a home and vehicle in that block, police said.
"Officers responded to the residence where the suspect vehicle was located. While attempting to execute the search warrants, there was a brief standoff and the suspect was taken into custody," Broussard police said.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office SWAT team assisted.
The incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with additional information on the incident is asked to call the Broussard Police Department at 837-6259 or Crime Stoppers.
