New York City offers hundreds of affordable housing options for seniors
NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York City is home to nearly 2 million people over the age of 60, and these older adults are more likely to live below the poverty line, according to data from the NYC Department of Aging.
The New York City Housing Connect website has hundreds of units open for seniors throughout the city.
“A Senior is defined as households with at least one household member who is 62 years of age or older at the time of the application who meet the income and household size requirements listed,” read a listing for Weeksville Place on the Housing Connect website. “Qualified applicants will be required to meet additional selection criteria. Applicants who live in New York City receive a general preference for apartments.”
