"The Bachelorette" star Jenn Tran promises that fans are in for plenty of shocking moments on her season of the long-running reality franchise, particularly at the end of her journey.
"It's adventurous, emotional, and very surprising," she told Business Insider ahead of the season 21 premiere.
"Of course, there's going to be some crying, some dramatic moments. And it's adventurous because I was really pushed outside my comfort zone," she added.
Bachelor Nation was first introduced to Jenn earlier this year on season 28 of "The Bachelor," where she was eliminated just before hometowns. Now, Jenn gets another shot at love as the leading lady of "The Bachelorette."
So far, Jenn has teased that her journey ends in an unconventional way, with her doing something that's never been done before on the show.
As the competition heats up, here's what we could piece together about whether Jenn gets engaged at the end of "The Bachelorette" season 21.
Jenn said that her season's ending is 'very surprising'
Given that the franchise has been around for more than 20 seasons, it's hard to imagine anything happening this season that could break the mold. But Jenn teased in an interview with former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe that the ending of her season is "something that has never happened before."
When BI asked her to elaborate, Jenn offered a few more details. "I came into the journey kind of thinking that it would end in a certain way or a different way," she told BI.
"The ending of it all, I just never really saw coming," she added. "So it was a shocker for me, and it's going to be a shocker to my family, and I think it's going to be a shocker to a lot of people watching as well."
This twist ending was heavily referenced in a teaser from the season, with Jenn telling host Jesse Palmer, "I'm done letting men dictate my relationships."
"No Bachelorette has ever done this before," Jesse says. "You sure you want to do this?"
"I have to choose myself," she replies.
In another part of the teaser, Jenn discusses showing something that she "never" thought she'd do at the start of this journey.
"I know what I want. I know what I deserve, and I have to do what's right for me," she says, leading fans to speculate that perhaps Jenn is the one who proposes, which would be a first for the series.
Reality Steve has some major spoilers for Jenn's season of 'The Bachelorette'
Warning: Stop reading now if you don't want to know potential spoilers for Jenn's season.
According to longtime Bachelor Nation blogger Reality Steve, Jenn ends the season with an engagement.
The blogger said that Jenn's final two contestants are Devin Strader, a freight company owner from Houston, and Marcus Shoberg, a US Army Ranger veteran based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since nearly every Bachelorette has gotten engaged at the end of their season, Reality Steve predicted that Jenn would follow suit. In late May, the blogger reported that Jenn gets engaged to Devin.
Reality Steve is rarely wrong, but it does sometimes happen.
However, fans are convinced that Jenn herself might have slipped and accidentally revealed her engagement during an appearance on "Call Her Daddy." In the interview, released before the season premiere, Jenn spoke to host Alex Cooper about fans having many opinions about her season before it aired.
"I think that you just can't win," Jenn said. "People were like, She's too boring, or she's too crazy. She wants to take shots. It's like, God forbid I want to take a shot! I didn't know that once you get engaged, you can't take a shot. Or once you find love, you can't take a shot."
When Jenn mentioned getting engaged and then quickly backtracking to reframe it as finding love raised a few eyebrows for Bachelor Nation.
Viewers curious about the lead-up to Jenn and Devin's reported engagement will have to watch the season 21 finale of "The Bachelor" on Tuesday, September 3, to see how it all unfolds.
