Who is former Oasis drummer Chris Sharrock and where is he now?
OASIS have confirmed a reunion 15-years after the iconic band split in 2009.
With tour dates now confirmed for the Oasis reunion let’s take a look at what we know about their former drummer and friend.
Who is former Oasis drummer Chris Sharrock?
Chris Sharrock is an English drummer.
Born May 30, 1964 Sharrock grew up in Merseyside, England.
The drummer has been a member of many bands including the Icicle Works, the Wild Swans, World Party, the Lightning Seeds and Liverpool’s songsmiths, the Las.
He has even been part of Robbie Williams‘ live band, but he is most known as being a former member of Oasis before the band split.
Sharrock joined Oasis in 2008 after previous drummer Zak Starkey left the band.
The Merseyside boy became well known to Oasis fans for his drum solo during the song “The Shock of the Lightning” which he performed many times whilst touring with Oasis in 2008.
He stood out for his playful tricks with his drumsticks, which included him twirling them during the intro to “Morning Glory” and throwing them up in the air mid song.
Upon signing Sharrock to the band, Noel Gallagher told Mojo: “Liam [Gallagher] is still not happy about Chris Sharrock, because he’s Robbie Williams’ drummer.
“I went home and thought about it and it was just too much of a temptation to piss Robbie Williams and Liam off in one phone call.”
The former Lightning Seed played the drums on the final Oasis album, Dig Out Your Soul.
Where is Chris Sharrock now?
After Oasis split in 2009, Sharrock was a member of Liam Gallagher‘s new band called Beady Eye which consisted of former Oasis bandmates, Gem Archer and Andy Bell.
When Beady Eye disbanded in 2014, Sharrock joined the touring band for Noel Gallagher‘s High Flying Birds.
Along with his former bandmate Archer, Sharrock was announced as a full-time member for Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in 2017.
Sharrock is still a member of High Flying Birds as drummer and percussion. He appears on High Flying Bird’s most recent album, Council Skies.

Band brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher have been working towards a reconciliation and finally negotiated a deal to get the band back together, 15 years after Noel dramatically quit the band.
