Teen tried to flee fight when he was struck by train in Queens: NYPD

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 17-year-old was fighting with an 18-year-old before he was struck by a subway train in Queens on Monday, according to the NYPD.

It happened near the Elmburst Avenue subway station just after 11 a.m. The teenager hit the 18-year-old with a bottle, per police.

The 17-year-old then jumped onto the train tracks to flee when he was struck by an incoming F train, according to authorities. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 18-year-old suffered an injury to his nose and a laceration to the right side of his head, per police.

E, F, M and R trains were severely delayed as a result, according to the MTA. Normal service resumed later on Monday.
